Featured Commuter on NY Waterway ferry in February 2012

Check out this month's Featured Commuter!

About a year and a half ago, Steve took the ferry just to check out how long it takes to get to work via the boat. It was easy to get spoiled with a short free bus ride to the dock and an 8 minute cruise across the river... READ MORE

NY Video meetups rock

Do you work in the digital world in NYC? Check out NY Video!

New York Video has grown from a small group of startups getting together into a membership in the thousands, now boasting to be the world’s largest grassroots organization of web video entrepreneurs. The scope of the meetings expanded from just online video to all sorts of online content. You can be sure that each month Yaron, the group organizer and moderator, will select interesting guests who get 5 minutes to demo their products, followed by Q&A with the group. And stick around after after the product demos for some networking with our peers. http://nyvideo.org/

The most recent Meetup, July 2010, was the second installment of the “Founder DNA Series”. Yaron Samid interviews Gary Vaynerchuk (Crush It!) in a Fireside Chat, (ala James Lipton in "The Actors Studio").

Metric Teen Tours group on Facebook

metric teen tours
There's a Facebook group for alumni of Metric Teen Tours.

While doing some digging through old boxes I found an album from my 1979 trip across the western United States and uploaded a few shots to the group.

If you found this blog entry while searching for the Metric Teen Tour of Scarsdale, NY, jump over to the Facebook group for messages and photos

Kwik-e-mart in Times Square. Hey Simpsons Fans check it out.

There's a Kwik-E-Mart in Times Square, on 42nd Street, between 8th and 9th avenue.

I walked by the store and it didn't hit me right away. My first reaction was "oh 7-11 couldn't make it in manhattan... it's been replaced by a... kwik--- oh wait! Simpsons!"

The Kwik-E-Mart on 42nd Street has Squishies, Buzz Cola, boxes and boxes of Krusty O's, and Radioactive Man!

In addition to New York, the Associated Press reports 7-Eleven Kwik-E-Marts are in Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Burbank, Calif.; Los Angeles; Henderson, Nev.; Orlando, Fla.; Mountain View, Calif.; Seattle; and Bladensburg, Md. It's all designed to hype the July 27th opening of The Simpsons Movie.

The all important question, can we buy Duff Beer? Nope. A 7-Eleven marketing exec said Duff was really a tough call, "but we want to make sure it's considered good, responsible fun."
Hey maybe a dozen MOE'S TAVERNs will be created for the sequel.
